Scope of Work: Development of replacement and alternative Shape Stable Nosetip (SSNT) materials for both existing Navy Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Reentry Systems (MK4 & MK5), and the development and fabrication of thermal protection system materials and components (including nosetips, heatshields, control surfaces and antenna windows) for new/advanced Navy reentry systems and flight test experiments. Background: The proposed contract was synopsized on the beta.SAM website on 23 March 2021. While multiple companies expressed interest in the requirement, none of the companies submitted a capability statement after discussions with the Government. The Justification and Approval for Use of Other than Full and Open Competition was approved on 16 June 2021. The NSWCDD Deputy for Small Business concurred with the decision to solicit a sole source contract with Intermat.

This is a follow-on to Contract No. N0017817D2055. Scope of Work: Development of replacement and alternative Shape Stable Nosetip (SSNT) materials for both existing Navy Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Reentry Systems (MK4 & MK5), and the development and fabrication of thermal protection system materials and components (including nosetips, heatshields, control surfaces and antenna windows) for new/advanced Navy reentry systems and flight test experiments. Capability Statements: Interested parties may submit capability statements by the date listed in this announcement. Capability statements shall not exceed ten (10) pages and shall include the following: 1. A complete description of the Offeror’s capabilities, related experience, facilities, techniques, or unique combination of these factors that clearly relate to the Government’s specific needs for this requirement as specified in the draft Statement of Work. 2. A company profile including CAGE code, DUNs number, and a statement regarding small business status. 3. Specific past performance on same or similar size and scope of work performed by the Offeror as a Prime Contractor within the past five (5) years, including a description of the services provided, the dollar value of the effort, and the contract number. 4. List of prospective Sub-contractors including metrics to show full compliance with FAR 52.219-14 Limitations on Subcontracting.
