This is a Request for Information (RFI) by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). NSWCDD is seeking information on existing, prototype, developmental and/or research configurations for high-performance photodetectors and supporting technology elements for infrared positioning sensors. Sensors of interest must include the ability to see at 1-micron laser wavelength. Solutions are sought that provide improved sensitivity, reduced noise, and sharp rise/fall characteristics. There are no restrictions on substrate materials or geometries, though larger active areas are preferred. Please highlight any novel materials/methods used to optimize detector performance, and any corresponding trades made to other parameters to achieve this performance. For any sensors not currently in mass production, please indicate an estimated Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and developmental milestones required to reach a full manufacturing ready product.
