It is understood that this is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) intends to issue a solicitation for High Energy Laser (HEL) rapid prototyping. The purpose of this requirement is to develop a Multiple Award Contract (MAC) for Indefinite-Delivery-Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ), in accordance with FAR 16.5 – Indefinite-Delivery Contracts, to compete build to print items (rapid prototypes). This requirement includes hardware fabrication, optical fabrication, hardware and software for hardware prototype or prototype production units and kits, source power manufacturing and equipment. The Contractor shall provide prototypes for extensive testing in laboratories, at test sites, and as deployed units in theater. The delivery schedule and quantity of systems to be produced will be specified in individual delivery orders. Hardware components or hardware systems fabricated shall consist of a complete package, which includes all associated documentation identified in the delivery orders. There is currently no build to print contract at NSWCDD that can provide the required hardware fabrication, optical fabrication, hardware and software for hardware prototype or prototype production units and kits, source power manufacturing and equipment. This will be the initial requirement to provide build to print items (rapid prototypes) to support the laser/EO system design and fabrication, rapid prototyping, and rapid technology insertion. This notice is a synopsis and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it is not a commitment by the U.S. Navy to procure the subject requirement.
