This is a Request for Information (RFI) only by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). NSWCDD is seeking information on existing, prototype, developmental and/or research configurations for an instrument to measure the particle mass concentration of varios polydisperse aerosol compositions inside a sealed chamber. The aerosol chamber has an approximate experimental volume of 0.5 cubic meters. There are multiple ports where instrumentation can be mounted to interrogate the internal volume. Known aerosols, consisting of either solid or liquid particles, are generated and suspended inside the chamber. The aerosol's particle mass and number concentration inside the chamber must be measured accurately to understand the chamber conditions. An accurate isokinetic measurement consists of reporting particle concentration over the entire particle diameter distribution of an aerosol. Solutions are sought to determine the existence of any instrumentat ion that meets the requirements outlined in the "Parameters of Interest".
