Dispensing Pressing Lean Cell This Sources Sought notice is being posted to satisfy the requirement of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement 206.302-1(d). The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD), Contracts Department, Code 02 intends to award a Sole Source contract for the manufacturing of (2) FILLPRO Dispensing/Pressing Lean Cells and associated equipment, to Xigent Automation Systems (CAGE 6WQR6) 8303 Green Meadows Drive Lewis Center, OH 43035. NSWC IHD CAD/PAD division has a need to expand throughput capacity in order to meet increasing fleet requirements. CAD/PAD production area conducts a variety of energetics processing functions as part of cartridge manufacturing. Functions include, and are not limited to: mixing, increment weighing, and powder pressing. These machines are proprietary to Xigent Automation Systems and are not offered by another vendor. Comparable machines developed by another offeror would not be compatible with the existing production line, and increase the likelihood of operations quality and safety risks. THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2304(C)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation will be available for this procurement. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit or award a contract.
