This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP), nor is it construed as a commitment by the Government. This synopsis is prepared in accordance with guidance in FAR 5.207, and is prepared for the purpose of notifying potential offerors of an upcoming Firm Fixed Priced solicitation for supplies in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHD). NSWC IHD has a requirement for the manufacture and assembly of Mk 706 Mod 0 Shipping Containers which are required for shipping the Mk 66 Rocket Motors. The Mk 66 Rocket Motor is used with various 2.75-Inch warheads, fuzes in the 2.75-Inch Rocket system and the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) Guidance System. These systems are utilized by the U.S. Marines and are critical to the success of Warfighter operations where 2.75-inch rocket motors are utilized in mission operations. The Government anticipates that all deliveries will be made within one year of contract award. This requirement will be competed as a 100% small business set aside. The NAICS Code is 332439. The size standard is 600 employees and the PSC code is 8140. The award will be made on a “Best value” basis and will include qualitative evaluation factors and tradeoff procedures. It is anticipated the solicitation will be available for download on or about December 20, 2023.
