DESCRIPTION: CLIN 0001: Repairs of XPS Spectrometer to include onsite visit and consumables, labor, travel, expenses and parts combined into one line item. Statement of Work for XPS Spectrometer Repairs ThermoFisher Scientific X-Ray Photoelectron Spectrometer (XPS) repair Background: The Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD), Chemistry Branch’s X-Ray Photoelectron Spectrometer (XPS) is a highly utilized tool in the Research, Development, Technology & Engineering Department to study surface chemistry. This analytical tool is essential in the elemental analysis of novel energetic precursors and compounds as well as quality control of existing formulations. Scope: A service technician from ThermoFisher Scientific (manufacturer of the instrument) will travel to NSWC IHD. The service technician will bring replacement parts for the instrument as well as some consumable repair parts required for upkeep of the instrument. The repair is expected to take one week of labor with overnight stays. All repairs are required to take place on site as the instrument is not portable. NSWC IHD personnel nor third-party vendors are authorized to repair TFS instrument. Applicable Documents: N/A Performance Requirements: Replacement of the anode, sub pump filament, x-ray emitter, flow switch, flood gun, ion gun and O-ring. After replacement of all parts, ensure spectrometer is operational and will hold required vacuum pressure. Deliverables: The Contractor shall provide written documentation of repair and replacement parts.
