NSWC, IHEODTD Indian Head, intends to award a contract on a nonco... THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE, NOT A REQUEST FOR A QUOTE (RFQ). A RFQ WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND QUOTES WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. NSWC, IHEODTD Indian Head, intends to award a contract on a noncompetitive basis to TA Instruments for the following: The evaluation and repair of two Heat Flow Calorimeters (HFCs), TAM III S/N 307 and TAM III S/N 123. The Contractor shall perform a Performance Maintenance Visit on both HFCs located at NSWC IHEODTD, to include all labor and calibrations. A circulation pump service kit may be required for TAM III S/N 307. If additional parts are required, the Contractor shall notify the Contracting Officer for further instructions. This action is to be undertaken in accordance with FAR 13.106 (b) Soliciting from a single source, on the basis that the vendor is the only known source capable of meeting the government’s requirements. The Heat Flow Calorimters are a proprietary design used by TA Instruments and is only serviced by TA in the US. PETA Solutions, a company located in the UK, services the TAM III, but only provides service in the UK. Other vendors providing heat flow calorimeters in the US are Thermal Hazard Technology, Setaram Instrumentation, and Calmetrix, however, they do not service the TAM III. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334516 - Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing This Notice of Intent is not a request for quotes. Information received from interested parties will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses to this electronic notice must be made by 8:00 am EST on 30 June 2020. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
