The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD) intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price contract on a Sole Source (SS) basis to Austin Powder Company, 25800 Science Park Drive, Cleveland, Ohio 44122 for manufacturing of new Detonating Cord Assemblies (DCA) or Thin Layer Explosive (TLX) components. The intended contract's period of performance is one year. Austin Powder Company is the only source qualified to manufacture new Detonating Cord Assemblies (DCA) or Thin Layer Explosives (TLX) components. This synopsis is for information purposes only. The proposed contract action is a combination of service and supply which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD) requires a contractor capable of producing the following on behalf of the United States Navy (USN): • Successful Manufacturing and delivery of new Detonating Cord Assemblies (DCA) or Thin Layer Explosive (TLX) components This Solicitation will be restricted under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1; Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
