The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD), intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to Chemring Sensors and Electronic Systems, Inc., located at 4205 Westinghouse Commons Drive, Charlotte, NC 28273-3958 for the procurement of parts for the Joint Biological Point Detection System (JBPDS) and Enhanced Maritime Biological Detection (EMBD) Systems. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
