A revised CDRL package containing A001-A006 was also attached as a PDF Portfolio. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is the Navy’s corporate lab for conducting basic and applied research in the space sciences. In order to carry out space science investigations, the Space Sciences Division (SSD, CODE 7600) needs technical support for the design, fabrication, assembly, testing, and calibration of experiments, scientific instrument structures, components, subsystems, support equipment, and related field operations. This involves computer modeling, experiment design, data analysis, instrument packaging, payload testing, and field deployments. The purpose for this Request for Proposals (RFP) is procure the personnel, equipment, and facilities necessary to perform instrument systems engineering and research pursuant to the design, development, analysis, fabrication, assembly, integration, testing and documentation of sophisticated space science instruments and experimental payloads for the SSD. Specific issues to be addressed under this solicitation are advanced thermal, mechanism, optical, contamination and systems engineering activities for implementation of Space Science instruments and payloads. The SSD seeks RDT&E support in the following areas: Geospace Science and Technology, High Energy Space Environment, and Solar and Heliospheric Physics. The Government anticipates award of a Cost Plus Fixed Fee contract. This procurement is a re-compete effort for current contract N00173-18-F-6201, which was awarded via OASIS to SGT Inc.
