Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) is conducting a study of future materials. This study is intended to develop a roadmap for materials that identify the research, development, and certification steps necessary to verify that a new material and its fabrication procedures are appropriate for their intended use. This Request For Information includes the Market Research Questionnaire and the NAVSEA Technical Publication T9074-BD-GIB-010/0300. Industry is asked to review, complete, and to submit the market research questionnaire for market research purposes. Partial responses to the questionnaire are acceptable. All industry comments, questions, and responses to the market research questionnaire received from entities indicating interest and demonstrating capability to perform, will be used as research to potentially build a development plan. All interested parties are asked to submit all questions regarding this Notice by 1400 Eastern Time on 16 December 2019. All interested parties are asked to submit a response to this Notice as soon as possible, however not later than by 1000 Eastern Time 31 January 2020 via email to the point of contacts. This opportunity is NOT a request for proposals nor shall it be construed as a commitment by the Government to solicit contractual offers or award contracts. The Government will not reimburse the cost from any interested source for this announcement. To be clear, the entire cost of any response or question will be at the sole expense of the interested party. The revision on 9 December 2019 is to remove the restricted access document and replace it with the Base Metals RFI so interested parties did not need to request access to view the file. There is no difference between version and the verison posted in the original annoucement.
