The Government is conducting market research for engineering and technical root cause analysis support for Stryten Energy LLC Submarine Valve Regulated Lead Acid batteries used on all Navy submarines and Moored Training Ships. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, located at Naval Weapons Station, Crane, IN, intends to award a sole-source contract to Stryten Energy LLC because the batteries have a proprietary design and no other source can satisfy the requirement without unacceptable delays and duplicative cost. The Government seeks information from companies that can mitigate this sole-source basis, particularly those with capabilities and facilities to perform RCA on Stryten SVRLA batteries under similar government contracts. Interested parties are encouraged to submit company and product literature, a white paper of no more than 15 pages, performance parameters, availability, prior production/testing/test reports, budgetary estimates for test articles and production units/quantity breaks, lead time, and whether a demonstration unit could be provided to expedite decision-making. No funding is currently available for contractual efforts, and costs incurred in responding will not be reimbursed.
