SOURCES SOUGHT: In accordance with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement Procedures, Guidance, and Information (DFARS PGI) 206.302-1, the Government is issuing this Sources Sought announcement as part of its market research. This Sources Sought announcement is intended to determine the availability and technical capability of businesses to provide the required supplies. BACKGROUND: Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) is seeking information for market research purposes for the procurement of TR-343 Transducer Ceramic Stack Assemblies used in the manufacturing of the TR-343 Sonar Transducer. TR-343 Transducer Ceramic Stack Assemblies are a component of the TR-343 Transducer system and under the cognizance of Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Crane Division. The TR-343 Transducer is part of the AN/SQS-53C Hull-Mounted Sonar Array, which is a component of the AN/SQQ-89(V) Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) System. The AN/SQQ-89(V) is a fully-integrated Surface Ship Undersea Warfare (USW) combat system with the capability to search, detect, classify, localize, and attack submarine targets. The TR-343 Transducer Ceramic Stack Assemblies are critical components necessary to provide the required piezoelectric characteristics to produce mechanical motion in the water for generation of sonar signals when a large voltage is applied.
