N0016413DJN07P00008 - SOLE SOURCE - MK44 30MM GUNS Varying Configurations - PSC - 1005 - NAICS 332994 Issue Date: 22 October 2019 - Closing Date: 06 November 2019 - Time Eastern Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Crane, IN intends to extend a sole-source contract for the procurement of the MK44, 30MM Guns in varying configurations, such as MK 44 MOD 1/MOD 2, GAU-23A/A, Bushmaster II automatic gun, and MK 44 Stretch Configurations, associated spare gun components, special tooling/equipment as well as engineering support to ALLIANT TECHSYSTEMS OPERATIONS LLC (ATK). The proposed contract action is for the modification of contract N00164-13-D-JN07 awarded to ALLIANT TECHSYSTEMS OPERATIONS LLC (CAGE: 1PYT8), to extend the contract through Fiscal 2022. The proposed contract action is for the supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source, ALLIANT TECHSYSTEMS OPERATIONS LLC (ATK), 4700 Nathan Lane North, Plymouth, MN 55442-2512, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This is being sole sourced because ATK is the only known source, which has the capability to produce the MK44 30MM Guns in varying configurations. Specifications, plans or drawings relating to the procurement described are not available and cannot be furnished by the Government. The detailed design of the MK44 30MM Guns in varying configurations remains proprietary to ATK, making ATK the only source for design related engineering support. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency. However, a determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this solicitation is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
