The Government requires 1,500 each of a Dura 1 blank tile (TDP Ver 010), with delivery FOB origin. The part requires engineering source approval by the design control activity, and approved sources possess unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing/repair knowledge. Those approved sources retain data rights, technical data, or manufacturing/repair knowledge essential to part quality that is not economically available to the Government, so any alternate source must qualify under Government-approved procedures. Award will be made only if the offeror, product/service, or manufacturer meets the qualification requirements at time of award under FAR 52.209-1. The Government is not using FAR Part 12 commercial-item procedures, but interested parties may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item.
