The Government requires 200 units of a specified part, delivered FOB origin, with engineering source approval required by the design control activity. Approved source(s) retain data rights, manufacturing/repair knowledge, or technical data that are not economically available to the Government and are essential to maintaining part quality. Alternate sources must qualify under procedures approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity, and award will be made only if the offeror, product/service, or manufacturer meets the qualification requirements at time of award per FAR 52.209-1. The Government is not using FAR Part 12 commercial-item policies for this solicitation, but interested parties may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item.
