An approved source is required for this part, as engineering source approval by the design control activity is necessary to maintain quality, and the existing data and knowledge are essential yet not economically available to the Government. An alternate source must qualify in accordance with the design control activity's procedures, as approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1, and this notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Responsible sources may identify their interest and capability, but award will be made only to an offeror, product, or manufacturer that meets the qualification requirements at the time of award. Delivery is FOB origin.
