THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Navy is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party’s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the SAM.gov. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Mechanicsburg is seeking eligible contractors to furnish projected delivery schedules for the MT06 Cartridge Actuated Initiator in quantities of 781 each (in three lots of 195 each and 1 lot of 196 with 33 test units and 3 investigative units for each lot) and 390 each (in 2 lots of 195 each with 33 test units and 3 investigative units for each lot). The Government intends to solicit and negotiate its requirement through full and open competition, through small business set asides, or with only one or limited sources as may be appropriate for the requirement being solicited. The Government’s method of negotiation will be indicated in future solicitations and, if appropriate, supported through Justifications and Approvals (J&As) in accordance with 10 U.S.C 2304 and published to SAM.gov in accordance with 15 U.S.C. 637(e)) and 41 U.S.C. 1708. The purpose of this notice is to determine the ability of the vendor base to meet MT06 delivery needs for a possible future requirement. All responsible sources may identify their company’s interest in qualifying to manufacture CAD/PAD Devices, their interest in submitting proposals to manufacture CAD/PAD devices not requiring qualification, or provide capability statements in response to this notice. Each company’s response should also state the company’s CAGE code and Business type (large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, etc.) based upon North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 325920. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. The Navy has not made a commitment to procure the item discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned.
