The contract is for the acquisition of 22 units of NSN 1H-5935-015432663-L1, a Level 1 item to be delivered to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1, as it does not own the data or rights needed to purchase from additional sources and reverse engineering is uneconomical. Award will be made only to offerors whose inspection system conforms to MIL-I-45208A or equivalent, certified by a joint DCMA/NAVSUP WSS survey team. Qualified sources must meet the qualification requirement at time of award in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. All responsible sources may submit capability statements or proposals for consideration, but this is not a request for competitive proposals.
