The Government does not own the data or rights needed to purchase or contract repair from additional sources, and it has determined that buying the data/rights or reverse engineering the part is uneconomical. Interested responsible sources may identify their interest and capability or submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements, but this notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and any decision not to compete is discretionary. Market research indicates FAR Part 12 commercial-item procedures are not being used, although interested parties may identify commercial-item capability to the contracting officer.
