This is a total small business set-aside procurement by NAVSUP WSS Mechanicsburg for a parts kit for size 2½-inch ball valves, consisting of one ball (Find No. 167) and two mating seats (Find No. 168) built to Naval Sea Systems Command Drawing 801-6408784. The parts are Special Emphasis/Level I material for a crucial shipboard system, requiring higher-level inspection, extensive test/certification, configuration control, a compliant quality system (ISO 9001 or MIL-I-45208), and Government quality assurance at source. The ball must be SAE-AMS-6931 or centrifugally cast 6AL-4V ASTM-B367 Grade C-5, while the seats must be DuPont AF DE588 Teflon-filled acetal meeting specified properties; ultrasonic inspection of starting ball material and applicable NDT/weld/braze qualifications are required.
