STEM ASSY
NAVSUP WSS requires manufacture of a complete stem assembly for a 1-inch ball valve per Newport News Drawing 2285-296 and General Dynamics Drawing SS845-2445483, including a QQ-N-286 stem and ASTM-B505 UNS C90300 retaining nut. This is Special Emphasis Level I/SUBSAFE material for a critical shipboard system, so the contractor must maintain an ISO 9001 or MIL-I-45208 quality system, submit quality-system procedures prior to award unless already on file, and obtain approval of welding/brazing procedures before production or repair welding. The award will be bilateral and require the contractor’s written acceptance; it will be DO/DX rated under DPAS and is a total small business set-aside, with past performance evaluated by NAVSUP WSS Mechanicsburg. The contractor must provide a one-year warranty from delivery and give DCMA at least 72 hours’ notice, with an offer to observe, for any new welding procedure qualification. Government quality assurance will be performed at source, and the place of performance may not be changed without PCO authorization.
