This is a procurement for SPECIAL EMPHASIS (Level I/SUBSAFE) carbon steel pipe, specifically 16-inch nominal pipe size, Schedule 100, to be manufactured in accordance with MIL-P-24691. The material is for a crucial shipboard system where failure could result in serious injury, loss of life, or loss of the ship. The contractor must provide and maintain a quality system in accordance with ISO-9001 (or MIL-I-45208 as an alternate) and submit extensive certifications, including for chemical/mechanical properties and a 100% traceability program. A one-year warranty from the date of delivery applies. The requirement is set aside for small businesses and is a rated order under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS).
