The U.S. Navy is seeking a small-business set-aside supplier to manufacture MS17829-16C self-locking hexagon nuts in accordance with NASM25027, using UNS G11370 or MIL-DTL-1222 carbon/alloy steel with cadmium plating and an ASTM D4066 nonmetallic insert. These are Special Emphasis Level I shipboard-system fasteners requiring rigorous quality assurance, traceability, chemical/mechanical certification, first article testing, magnetic particle inspection, hydrogen embrittlement relief, and configuration control. The contractor must maintain an ISO-9001 or MIL-I-45208 quality system, submit required CDRLs, and support Government quality assurance at source, while NAVSUP WSS Mechanicsburg will consider past performance in award evaluation. The proposed performance schedule requires certification data CDRLs 20 days prior to scheduled delivery, PNSY acceptance review 6 working days after receipt, final material delivery within 365 days after contract effective date, and a one-year warranty from delivery. The award will be a DO-rated national-defense priority order issued under Emergency Acquisition Flexibilities.
