This opportunity is a total small business set-aside for the manufacture and supply of a worm shaft for a crucial shipboard system, designated as Level I special emphasis material with strict quality assurance and certification requirements. Performance will be at the contractor’s facility, with Government Quality Assurance at source and no change in place of performance without Contracting Officer authorization. The item must be manufactured in accordance with NAVSEA drawing 6408191 using ASTM-B196 Alloy C17200 material, with quantitative chemical/mechanical analysis, traceability, thread inspection, and testing certifications required. The contractor must maintain an ISO-9001 quality system with ISO-10012/ANSI-Z540.3/ISO-17025 calibration, or acceptable alternatives, and comply with configuration control, waiver, and welding/brazing requirements. The contract will be a DO-rated order for national defense, and past performance will be considered in evaluation.
