Except as modified or amplified in the RFP this item contains explosives and a pre-award safety survey will be required. DFARS 252.223-7002, Safety Precautions for Ammunition and Explosives applies. Acquisition contains explosive ordnance items which require special security, safety and transportation clauses, which may be found in Section I. The solicitation will be available no earlier than the response date for this synopsis. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only Ametek Ameron (cage 0FRR4) and Kidde Technologies (cage 61423)under the authority of FAR 6.302. NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Mechanicsburg is seeking eligible contractors to furnish effort including labor, material, and facilities as may be required to manufacture the items as specified within this document. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with two sources under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The Government intends to solicit for the procurement of: NSN 1377-01-660-5593 or 1377-01-263-3627, P/N MT20, Nomenclature: CCU-125/A Fire Extinguisher Cartridge, DWG 3205AS103. The government does not possess or cannot provide the data necessary to perform the required manufacture of the item. All responsible sources may identify their interest and provide capability statements in response to this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received prior to the closing date of this sources sought notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Approval of a source may be required and WSS will not delay award while Source Approval is pending.
