This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Navy is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party’s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the betaSAM and/or Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. The United States Navy (USN) is seeking sources who have an existing Magazine Fed Shotgun, see details and Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) below. Responses shall be limited to no more than 3 pages in size 12 Times New Roman Font of product narrative. The 3-page limitation does not include submission of product specifications and material data sheets. No classified information is to be provided in submission. KPP / Threshold / Objective - Operating System / Semi-automatic, box magazine fed, with a five (5) round magazine capacity plus one (1) in the chamber / Semi-automatic, box and/ or drum magazine fed, with an eight (8) round (minimum) magazine capacity plus one (1) in the chamber - Caliber or Gauge / Able to chamber and fire 12 gauge 2 3/4 standard velocity and magnum shells interchangeably / Able to chamber and fire 12 gauge 2 3/4 and 3 standard velocity and magnum shells interchangeably - Barrel Length / 18.5 fixed choke / 10- 18.5 internally threaded for removable choke tubes (cylinder/ improved cylinder/ modified) - Barrel Suppressor / Externally Threaded barrel to accept sound and flasher suppressor / Integral sound and flash suppressor - Weight (unloaded) / 9lbs or less without sound and flash suppressor / 7.5lbs or less without sound and flash suppressor - Length / not to exceed 40 with buttstock extended; no sound and flash suppressor / not to exceed 38 with buttstock extended; no sound and flash suppressor - Sights / Mechanical ghost ring adjustable sights / MIL-STD-1913 rail on upper receiver to accept optical and or mechanical sighting systems. Responses submitted within the next 30 days will be considered. A possible next step would involve execution of a bailment agreement, in order that Navy personnel can verify if a particular Shotgun meets the above KPPs
