DFARS 252.223-7002, Safety Precautions for Ammunition and Explosives applies. Acquisition contains explosive Naval Ordnance items which require special security, safety and transportation clauses, which may be found in Section I. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be provided by the Navy. This procurement is restricted to Pacific Scientific, CA and Universal Propulsion authority (10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). This item is an explosive device. A safety survey will be required. Explosive weight (See SPI-PHST-251-Rev E), Explosive Class 1.4. Production lot testing, first article testing, contractor data requirements list, and FOB origin apply. NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Mechanicsburg is seeking eligible contractors to furnish effort including labor, material, and facilities as may be required to manufacture the items as specified with in this document. The Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Government intends to solicit for the procurement of the attached list of 116 items. Shielded Mild Detonating Cord (SMDC) assemblies are used are detonation wave transfer lines between the SMDC actuated initiators, tees, connectors and mild detonating cord assemblies. The government does not possess the data necessary to manufacture this item. All responsible sources may identify their interest and provide capability statements in response to this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this sources sought notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Source Approval is required.
