This sources sought is being issued on a market research basis in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. NAVSUP Weapons Systems Support seeks to identify entities capable of producing ASTM A29 Grade 1137 Steel, and/or 11L37 Carbon Steel Bars of various sizes listed below. Round bar sizes of interest: 1-1/2” (primary size of interest) Also: 1” 2” 2-1/4” 2-3/4” Entities capable of sourcing or producing the material(s) in question above should respond to the following questions: Do you have ASTM A29 Grade 1137 and/or 11L37 Carbon Steel bars, suitable for heat treatment, available? 1a. If not available now, do you normally carry? Material must be traceable to Mill certs with chemistry values. 2. Would they heat treat to a hardness of RHC 26-34? 3. Other ASTM or Mil spec that the material might meet? (e.g. ASTM A108 etc.) 4. Please articulate the Quality level of the bar? 5. Is there a minimum quantity required to be purchased? 6. What is the lead or delivery time? Prospective entities are encouraged to provide any available pricing information, however no responses to this notice will constitute as an official quote, offer, or agreement with the Government at this time in accordance with FAR 15.201(e). Responses should minimally include the following information: Company Name and CAGE Code as reflected in its current SAM Registration, and Tax Identification Number (TIN). Point of Contact (POC) (name, telephone number, email address, street address) Business Size & Business Type Company’s Capabilities Statement, and related marketing materials Responses shall be limited to ten (10) pages and submitted via email to Tom Fuller at thomas.g.fuller17.civ@us.navy.mil Responses to this notice may or may not be returned. Respondents may or may not be notified of the result of this notice. It is the potential vendor’s responsibility to monitor this site for the release of any follow-on information, up to and including a solicitation or contract award notice. This notice will remain active until the Government determines it is in the best interest to close it.
