SYNOPSIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION/NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT NAVSEA intends to award a sole source contract to DORMAKABA USA, INC. of Columbia, Maryland to procure replacement of sixteen electromechanical swing door operators and associated hardware. NAVSEA will use simplified acquisition procedures. The authority for soliciting a single source under simplified acquisition procedures is FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Soliciting Competition, which states that contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilization). This notice satisfies the requirements of FAR 5.201. This notice is not a request for quotation. No solicitation or RFQ will be forthcoming. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit product information in response to this notice by 10 am Eastern Standard Time, 13 March 2023 via email to maggie.l.ipsaro.civ@us.navy.mil. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract is entirely at the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All proposals received by the closing date specified herein will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
