Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to award a sole source contract to Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC), Liverpool, NY, for the production, modernization and maintenance of the Multifunction Modular Mast (MMM) systems for the Virginia Class and Los Angeles Class submarines. The anticipated contract will be awarded pursuant to 10 U.S.C. § 3204(a)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. LMC is the current producer of the AN/BSD-2 MMM systems, and is the only contractor with the requisite knowledge and expertise able to provide the highly specialized support to meet the Navy's requirement without significant risk to the Navy. Therefore, LMC is the only firm capable of satisfying the Government’s requirements within the required schedule. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals.
