This contract is for the procurement o... The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to enter into sole source negotiations and subsequently award a contract to Curtiss Wright (CW), Mt. Pleasant, PA. This contract is for the procurement of Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) Production Program Motor Generator (MG) Long Lead Time Materials (LLTM) for the CVN 81 Aircraft Carrier. These materials have long manufacturing lead times and will be inserted into higher assemblies, as part of future contracting actions, into the EMALS and CVN 81 shipsets. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements”. The EMALS MG LLTM are forgings that are incorporated into higher level assemblies and are source controlled to Curtiss-Wright. As such a procurement of any materials to support those higher level assemblies are source controlled to Curtiss-Wright. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation. The Government will consider any capability statements, proposals, or quotations received within thirty days after date of publication of this synopsis. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award, or be responsible for any money expended by interested parties before award of a contract for the effort described above. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to solicit on a sole source basis and subsequently award a contract to Curtiss Wright, located in Mt. Pleasant, PA. This contract is for the procurement of Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) Production Program Motor Generator (MG) Long Lead Time Materials (LLTM) for the CVN 81 Aircraft Carrier. The deliverables from this contract will be provided as GFP to the awardee of the contract discussed in Solicitation Number N0001920R0055 (not yet released). NAVAIR is issuing this sources sought with the intent to collect industry feedback for Government consideration prior to release of a formal request for proposal (RFP). It is only for the purpose of identifying potential sources as part of market research in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(1). Any information collected may be used for informational and/or planning purposes. No RFP or Request for Quote currently exists and requests for such will be denied. Responsible parties may identify their interest by responding to the requirement with a capability statement (no more than 10 pages in length). Interested parties are requested to submit their capability statement along with their company name, address, and any comments or questions to Regina.Ford@navy.mil and Michele.Estep@navy.mil by 5:00 PM (EST) on 17 JULY 2020.
