This is a sources sought notice for informational purposes only and is not a request for proposals. The Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland, intends to award a sole-source contract to Lockheed Martin for engineering and testing support to improve the BDU-59C/B Laser Guided Training Round. The anticipated award is planned for no later than the 4th quarter of 2026, with a formal request for proposal expected in the second quarter of 2026. The justification for the sole-source action is that Lockheed Martin is stated to be the only company with the necessary knowledge, tooling, and technical data. While not a solicitation, interested parties may identify their interest and capability for the government's consideration.
