The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a sole-source Firm Fixed Price contract to Boeing for F/A-18 IRST Block II Pod weapon replaceable assemblies (Fuel Tank Assembly and Sensor Assembly Structure) and final system integration. Performance of services is anticipated at Patuxent River, MD, and St. Louis, MO. Potential offerors must be capable of troubleshooting integration issues and may be required to design or acquire special test equipment. This synopsis is for informational purposes only and not a request for competitive proposals, though interested parties may respond to demonstrate capability. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Patuxent River, MD is conducting market research via a Sources Sought notice to identify potential suppliers for F/A-18 E/F Infrared Search and Track (IRST) Block II weapon replaceable assemblies, specifically the Fuel Tank Assembly and Sensor Assembly Structure. These assemblies must be capable of housing separately procured components (Infrared Receiver, Processor, Inertial Measurement Unit, and Environmental Control Unit) and offerors must be able to perform automated test procedures and troubleshooting at their own facility. No funding is currently available for response preparation, and this notice does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to award. The Government will not pay for any information submitted, and any future contract actions will be synopsized on the Government-wide Point of Entry. Interested businesses are invited to submit a brief capabilities statement demonstrating their ability to meet the requirements described.
