The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a sole-source, firm fixed-price delivery order to the Bell Boeing Joint Project Office for Nacelle Improvement Kits and Pylon Support Assemblies to retrofit MV-22 and CMV-22 aircraft. The work is to be performed under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement. The justification for the sole-source award is that Bell Boeing, as the sole designer and manufacturer of the V-22, is the only company with the necessary knowledge and technical data to meet the schedule. While this is a notice of intent and not a competitive request, the government will consider capability statements received within fifteen days of the synopsis publication for the purpose of possibly conducting a competitive procurement. Subcontracting inquiries should be directed to a specified point of contact.
