Deployable Flight Incident Recorder System (DFIRS) Mid-Life Upgrade (MUP) B-Kit Weapon Replaceable Assemblies (WRAs) Procurement
NAVAIR intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to DRS Systems, Inc. for the Deployable Flight Incident Recorder System (DFIRS) Mid-Life Upgrade, also known as the Voice and Aircraft Data Recorder, for F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft. The work includes production of B-Kit Weapon Replaceable Assemblies, the Data Bus Interface Unit, and the Deployable Flight Incident Recorder Unit. Performance is expected to begin in May 2027 and last 12 months. DRS Technologies Canada Ltd. is the original equipment manufacturer and is considered the only responsible source. No competitive solicitation will be issued.
