The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate and award a Firm Fixed Price and Cost Plus Fixed Fee contract modification on a sole source basis to BAE Systems, Austin, Texas. The contract action will procure additional repairs of Digital Control Display Units (DCDU) and Technical support Services. This requirement will be procured in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition under Title 10 U.S.C 3204 (a)(1) (formerly known as 10 U.S.C 2304 (c)(1)), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." This synopsis is for informational purposes only. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award, or be responsible for any funds expended by the interested parties before award of a contract for the effort described above. The proposed contract is anticipated to be a single base year. BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems is the only manufacture who can satisfy the Government's requirements within the required timeframe. THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
