The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), in support of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) F/A-18 Aircraft sustainment is soliciting information from industry to determine potential contractors capable of manufacturing a Hybrid Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) for the F/A 18 A-D GCU in accordance with ECP 5070 approved by NAVAIR CCB on 7 August 2013. The effort is required to support the current F/A-18 Legacy United States Marine Corps (USMC) GCU. It will be acquired under NAICS 334413 (Semiconductor and Related Device Manufacturing) and PSC 5961 (Semiconductor Devices and Associated Hardware), THIS SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS IS NOT A FORMAL REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, for market research purposes, potentially capable parties may identify their interest and capability by responding in writing to this announcement via email to the Contract Specialist listed no later than 15 days following the posted date of this synopsis. The Government will utilize the capability statements received as market research data to consider a procurement strategy. A determination by the Government not to compete the intended requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
