The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to purchase Advanced Networking Infrastructure (ANI) wiring provisions to be installed as retrofit into Block II aircraft. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2304 (C) (1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." Boeing is the designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the F/A-18 aircraft in its various configurations; and as such, is the only known firm with the knowledge, experience, and technical expertise required to accomplish this effort.
