This Request for Information (RFI) initiates market research under Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 10.002(b)(2)(iii). This is not a Request for Proposals. No final solicitation documents exist at this time. This RFI does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that the Government will take procurement action in this matter. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in furnishing this information. Description Product Manager, Engineer Systems (PdM ES), Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), is conducting market research for potential sources to purchase Vibratory Compactors. Compaction equipment is required by ground and aviation units to support various types of horizontal construction. Examples are construction of roads, airfield complexes, dams, open storage areas, hard stands for vehicle and equipment parks; repair of bomb damage on airfields; and compaction of building sites. USMC’s current inventory of Vibratory Compactors has surpassed its expected service life and will be over 25 years old at the time of fielding a refreshed capability. The Marine Corps estimates a new buy of 50 Vibratory Compactors. The Request for Proposal (RFP) is expected to be released in 1st Quarter Fiscal Year 2027. The contract is expected to be awarded in 3rd Quarter Fiscal Year 2027. The contract is expected to be a 5-year Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract.
