This Request for Information (RFI) initiates market research under Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 10.002(b)(2)(iii). This is NOT a Request for Proposals. NO FINAL SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS EXIST AT THIS TIME. This RFI does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that the Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) will take procurement action in this matter. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in furnishing this information. In support of USMC Intelligent Power Management System (IPMS) requirements, MCSC is interested in understanding industry's capability to design and produce Energy Storage Units (ESUs). Information is requested in the form of brief product descriptions. MCSC is interested in ESUs with a capability that focuses on providing backup power to critical power loads in the event of failure of 30KW/60KW Advanced Medium Mobile Power Sources (AMMPS) generators configured into a microgrid using Advances Digital Control Systems (ADCS). ESUs also need to have the ability to supply small loads to avoid the need to start additional AMMPS generators in a microgrid configuration.
