REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY 1.0 Description 1.1 The Marine Corps Installations Pacific – Regional Contracting Office (MCIPAC -RCO) located in Okinawa, Japan is currently conducting market research to solicit comments on the attached Performance Work Statement and locate qualified, experienced, and interested potential source. This is NOT a solicitation or pre-solicitation and this notice does not guarantee that a solicitation will be posted in the future or as an obligation on the part of the MCIPAC RCO. 1.2 In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.215-3, Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes, this Sources Sought (SS) Notice/Request for Information (RFI) it is for information and planning purposes only. At this time, no solicitation exists; therefore, please do not request a copy of the solicitation. 2.0 Requirement 2.1 The MCIPAC - RCO is contemplating a solicitation for Contractor Logistics Support to provide mechanical assistance for a wide-array of tactical vehicles across Okinawa, Japan. 2.2.1 The requirement involves the completion of organizational maintenance and repair services on tactical vehicles assigned to the III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) in an effort improve maintenance readiness. Organizational maintenance focuses on the operator and crew preventive/corrective measures required by technical publications, equipment failure, and service schedules. Organizational maintenance normally consist of inspecting, servicing, lubricating, adjusting, and replacing parts, minor assemblies, and subassemblies. Organizational maintenance includes first and second echelon maintenance responsibilities. This support includes operator checks and services, organic level preventive maintenance checks and service, corrective maintenance to include inspection, identification of discrepancies (fault isolation), inspection of parts prior to installation, and inspection of maintenance work for quality control. 2.2.2 The requirement will not include ordering or paying for parts or POLs required to complete maintenance. The requirement also does not include recording maintenance actions into the Marine Corps maintenance system of record. The government intends to carry out the orders, paying, and induction of maintenance actions into the system of record. 2.3 The anticipated period of performance for this requirement is 12 August 2020 through 11 August 2021. 3.0 Responses 3.1 Please respond to this notice with a capability statement if interested in submitting a quote for the follow on solicitation no later than Friday 10 April 2020, 08:00AM (Japanese Standard Time) / Thursday 9 April 2020, 06:00PM (U.S. Eastern Time). Per FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not considered offers, shall not be used as a proposal, and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Neither unsolicited proposals nor any other kinds of offers will be considered in response to this notice. No evaluation letters and/or results will be issued to the respondents; however, the Government does reserve the right to contact any respondent and/or respondent reference to obtain additional information.
