This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT to procure the following service/material: The Contractor shall provide all qualified personnel, supervision, supplies, materials, parts, components, equipment, tools, and transportation to replace sheaves for hoisting and luffing with new for Government owned 84 ton lifting capacity portal (jib) crane located at MCAS Iwakuni, Yamaguchi, Japan to support the operations of Motor Transport Branch (MTB). The United States Marine Corps Regional Contracting Office intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source contract to Sumitomo Heavy Industries Material Handling Systems Co. Ltd., 2-8-6, Nishishimbashi, Sumitomofudosanhibiya Bldg., Minato-ku, Tokyo 105-0003, Japan with FAR 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). Sumitomo Heavy Industries Material Handling Systems Co. Ltd. is the sole source to provide the service/material needed because they are the proprietary source that can provide this service/material. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 333923. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation of offers. Information received from interested parties will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
