Based on vendor interest and inquiries to this solicitation, the following questions and answers are posted: UNITAS Questions and answers: 1. Would you happen to know which base on Ilha do Governador the meal services will be provided at? Answer: Ilha do Governador Naval Infantry Base. 2. Are there any facilities on the base in Ilha do Governador, that the contractor could use to cook in? Answer: Yes. A PDF Document of the layout provided for meal prep space is attached and titled 'Área de Convivência e Refeitório - UNITAS'. 3. Is there are space on the base in Ilha do Governador, where the contractor could position equipment for meal prep? Answer: There will be space in the covered area for the contractor to position his equipment and prep the meals. 4. The contractor is to supply tables and chairs for US & PNP personnel to utilize during mealtime? Answer: table and chairs will be provided by the Brazilian Military. 5. Will access to the base for breakfast be provided 2 - 3 hours in advance of meal service until the beginning of breakfast? Answer: Yes, however, vendors personnel information (full names), and vehicle information shall be provided in advance to the government to facilitate entrance unto the Naval Infantry Base. 6. Has this type of catering requirement existed previously on other training exercises in Brasil? Answer: Yes; same exercise, same exact place. 7. Will the Brazilian military allow the contractor to store equipment on the base between meals, ie chairs & tables? Answer: Yes, however, a list of the equipment being stored shall be provided to the government prior to storage. 8. What type of facility is it that the US & PNP personnel will be eating in? •· Is it a building with a roof that can accommodate the 300 personnel at each meal? •· A: it's an open space with a roof over it, pavilion style, which can accommodate 250 personnel. •· Is it an open space that will require tents to accommodate the 300 personnel at each meal? •· A: it's an open space with a roof over it, pavilion style, which can accommodate 250 personnel. 9. Will the Government be responsible for the personnel count at each meal? Answer: Yes, both contractor personnel and the government shall maintain meal counts. 10. Typically, on other catering projects that we have performed for DoD and the USMC, there has been a requirements for 2 or 3 meal type selections (example: breakfast eggs & pancakes : dinner meat & pasta). Is the Government seeking meal options for breakfast and dinner or is 1 type of food option acceptable at breakfast and dinner? Answer: Section 2.1 of the Performance Work Statement addresses this this question directly. 11. Is it possible to get coordinates for the location where the catering services will be provided? Answer: Coordinates will not be provided. Upon arrival to the entry point at the Ilha do Governador Naval Infantry Base, vendors personnel will be directed and escorted to the area/location where services will be provided.
