The U.S. Marine Corps is requesting information on the Fox 750 Bassoon. The instrument must have a Bb1–F5 range, be tuned to A+440, and feature a hand-selected, aged mountain maple body with modern thick-wall construction, hybrid bore, and long-bell compact body configuration. It should include a compact-style case, metal French-style bell ring, nickel-silver water tubes, wing-joint and boot small-bore lining, cork-wrapped tenons, silver-plated keys/posts/bands/boot cap, high E key, Ab-Bb trill key, wooden hand rest, neck strap ring, and balance hanger. The bassoon must produce a sound that blends with the ensemble and enhances the overall sound quality of the bassoon section and the United States Marine Band.
