USMC National Museum Sherman Tank Transportation & Salvage UPDATED 24 AUGUST 2026
The contractor will recover an M4A3 Sherman tank (s/n 50296) from Range 106 at MCB Twentynine Palms, CA, using a crane to load it onto an RGN trailer for transport to the NMMC Museum Support Facility in Dumfries, VA. The work also includes salvaging usable parts—such as tracks, road wheels, sprockets, and return rollers—from another M4A3 hull at the same base, then palletizing and shipping them to the same Virginia address. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for August 14, 2026, at MCB Twentynine Palms, with RSVP required by August 11, 2026, and only offerors who attend will be considered for award. Attendance requires base access registration, DBIDS approval, and additional personal information as specified. No budget amount is provided in the description.
