This is a notice of intent to sole source a procurement under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) – soliicting from a single source. The applicable NAICS Code is 515210. The USMC Regional Contracting Office (RCO) – Marine Corps Installations-National Capital Region (MCI-NCR) at Quantico Marine Corps Base, VA intends to award a sole source contract to: Comcast Business Northeast Division 676 Island Pond Rd Manchester, NH 03109 The MCI-NCR RCO intends to award this requirement under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) to solicit from a single source for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. This requirement is for the procurement of commercial television and internet services. In the cable and internet industry, typically a single entity has a monopoly over providing these combined services in a specific region or very few entities share a competitive area. In the region of Indian Head, MD, there is only a single entity that can provide both commercial television and internet. Procurement planning for the follow-on effort is currently in process, and award is expected to be made on or around 1 May 2020, in accordance with fair opportunity under Far Part 13 procedures. The anticipated contract is for a period of performance from 1 May 2020 through 30 April 2021. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Capability statements or quotes, if received timely, will be considered; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
