This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using the simplified acquisition procedures of FAR Part 13 to procure repair services from East Coast Marine Repair in support of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island. The Government intends to award a sole source contract for the repair services to the firm of East Coast Marine Repair, 401 Parris Island Gateway, Beaufort, SC 29906. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit only one source. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. This requirement is for maintenance and repair services to support the MCRD PI watercraft, the Sea Ark, which will require the purchase of two (2) 115hp outboard motors. The watercraft is currently with the vendor for maintenance. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed purchase order/contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
