M00263- Ice and Freezer REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ANNOUNCEMENT: This is a Request for Information (RFI) to be used for market research purposes only. The Government is seeking responses from businesses capable of performing the required services. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. Responses to this announcement are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responses will not be used for evaluation in any resultant contract for this requirement. Please note that this requirement is in the developmental phase and the requirements summary and information provided is subject to change. The government shall not be held responsible for any costs incurred in response to this sources sought announcement. Participation is strictly voluntary. All RFI responses shall be received by 12:00PM EST on 8 July 2019. Description: The United States Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC (MCRDPI) is looking for businesses capable of supplying around 10,650 lbs of ice per week at MCRDPI. MCRDPI is also looking for vendors capable of leasing freezer units to store the ice. Detailed description: Period of performace will be from contract award until Octover 18, 2019 with options to re-new during 2020 (April-October). Ice will be used to assit cooling Marine Corps Recruits during training on months where the heat index affects the conduct of certain training events (April-October). Delivery - Ice must be delivered weekly, Monday- Wednesday at three different sites and contractor will be required to place the ice into freezers. Ice must be packed in bags no larger than 40 lbs. Site 1: 2,250 lbs per week Site 2: 6,000 lbs per week Site 3: 2,400 lbs per week Freezers: Freezers will be located at each of these sites and must be large enough to store the quantities above plus 10%. Vendor shall be responsible for freezer maintenance and capable of repairing/replace within 48 hours.
